I received a long ask in Russian, a breakdown of the episode and the idea that Nick is actually alive.

From what I understand, the theory is that June is telling the story through her book, and she deliberately hid the fact that she saved Nick, to protect him and run away with him. That’s why no one knows he’s alive.

I translated the theory with an AI, so don’t judge too harshly if something’s a bit off 😅

4:40 – Flashback with Nick, and he doesn’t board the plane.

7:00 – Conversation with Luke: Hannah is in Colorado. In Season 2, when June was burning letters in the kitchen and Nick grabbed them – we saw the word “Colorado” burning.

Let’s take the full chain of events with the letters:

Because of the forced help, June gets Omar hanged / Lydia drags her to the wall / she has a breakdown / burns the letters, Nick grabs them – again fire symbolism / Nick is forced to marry Eden / June is dying in the bushes / Nick saves her – this mirrors Nick’s own arc: info leak causes Jezebels’ deaths / he has a breakdown / his wife asks him to accept Gilead (i.e. they force him to “marry” the regime) / he nearly boards a plane to die / June saves him.

The letters are the center of this mirror.

The “mirror” song was sung by the girls at the bar, and June sang it too – to both Hannah and Nicole.

9:40 – Conversation with Mark. “My son lives in Hawaii with my ex-wife. The best I can do is to break Gilead so he won’t have to live in it.”

• Hello Hawaii – mirror to Nick: his ex-wife and son are in Gilead. He walked away to do the best for his son.

• Watch June’s reactions and Mark’s nod. “Then we’ll rest.”

14:00 – Conversation with Serena. She offers condolences about Nick’s death.

June replies: “Nick reaped what he sowed. He led a life full of violence and lies.”

Serena: “If he had a choice – he would’ve chosen you.”

Their music plays, and June smiles to herself. Serena looks confused, glancing twice at June’s reaction.

June chose him. That’s the core of this season – and the entire show.

By the way, in Season 1 the word “choice” was repeated a lot.

Nick told June she didn’t have a choice whether or not to tell the Mexican delegation if she was happy. Later, when Nick tried to end their relationship for safety, June told him she had no choice.

In Season 1, they clearly chose each other.

From the end of 4 through 6.03, we see endless oscillation between their respective partners.

This is the core choice the characters must make, no matter what the writers say.

In 6.03, Nick says only she matters. Now it’s June’s turn.

In 6.06, she wavers and almost agrees.

Then comes the betrayal arc, and everything falls apart like a house of cards.

If she saved him on the trap (where they almost kissed), then that’s her choosing Nick.

Other choices (Gilead resistance, Hannah) were never in question.

19:00 – Conversation with Mark. He gives June a pass to enter her old district and says his title – Commander.

21:00 – Walk with Emily. It’s all about life with Nick and leaving one’s family.

It’s clear now that it’s june who’s writing the book and in it, she’s describing her life and Nick’s death.

And now, what I think about all of this.

No, I don’t believe that’s what actually happened. Even though this theory breaks down all the breadcrumbs and bones they threw at the osblaine fans really well. The symbolism, the parallels, the dialogues, the fucking music - all about them. Like they gave us our bones and expected us to choke on them.

Why don’t I believe the theory? Because I’ve been a shipper for a long time, and I’ve been in this place of denial before. Way back, I used to ship Beth and Daryl from The Walking Dead. If you watched it, you’ll know — they were this super compelling duo from completely different worlds, with amazing chemistry. She had a powerful influence on him and vice versa. There was a big age gap, and for a while the writers were clearly teasing something romantic between them. Lots of buildup, tons of hints.

And then? They chickened out or something else happened. Long story short, they killed off Beth. And no one could accept it. Like, really couldn’t. I swear to God, the internet exploded with theories about how it’s possible to survive a headshot. There were even “medical proofs” being cited that someone could survive it, and that Beth did. I don’t remember all the details now maybe someone else here does but I absolutely went through a phase where I believed she was alive. Because I was grieving so hard, and my brain just wouldn’t let me accept the truth. I wanted that ship too much.

I don’t think that’s what’s going on with Nick. Mostly because of how hard they’ve been trashing him in interviews. Like, how many times have they outright confirmed he’s dead? So no, I don’t buy it.

BUT — and this is important, let’s put it in bold or caps:

KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS THEORY.

Because if the showrunners, the network, the producers, if they’re freaking out over the mess they’ve made and have no idea how to regain control, then THIS is a very real way to fix it:

Bring. Nick. Back.

We haven’t seen the body, right? And if there’s no body, then he’s not dead. You can always bring someone back. I mean, Dexter was literally shot in the chest at close range with a rifle, and this summer we’re getting a new season where he’s alive and escapes the hospital. After being exposed as a serial killer. If they can find a way to do that, they can find a way to bring Nick back.

So yeah. Take Max. Throw all the money in the world at him. Make it happen. I don’t give a fuck how you do it 😂

Fans just gave you a perfect excuse to make it work. You can absolutely stretch the logic, just wrap that owl around the globe and call it canon, right ?????

House of the Dragon Fanfiction Clichè's to definitely avoid.

Okay, let's begin with the basics. Here are the top clichè things in a typical House of the Dragon fanfiction. Most of these pop up in around 98% of stories out there. And since you all always make the character female, that's how I will be addressing them in these clichès. Be mad 🤡

(1) Being the child of Rhaenyra, Alicent, or Daemon.

Just three characters, but the probability of at least one of them being your characters parent is around 87%. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't bother me all that much, but come on guys, give us readers SOME originality!

(2) Being a secret love child, typically of one of these men: Daemon, Cole, or Harwin.

Guys, this was cool back when season 1 first premiered. Now it just makes fanfiction repetitive. Like, the plot twists are just not hitting the spot anymore.

(3) Being one of Rhaenyra's "strong bastards"

This is so typical. If you are Jace's twin you earn extra cliche points. ESPECIALLY when it turns into a plot twist of not actually being Harwin's child and you're either Daemon's or you are Laenor's only true born. Like, come up with new ideas or just scrap it, on god.

(4) Becoming the dragon rider to either: Vermithor, The Cannibal, Grey Ghost or Seasmoke.

I know this is a big one. Personally, I've seen way more Vermithor than Cannibal ones, but I'd say it's an easy 50/50. Other times it's Grey Ghost, which is just utterly boring in my opinion (mostly because yall forget you have dragons half the time until it's important), or it's Seasmoke after Laenor "dies". Like, why can't you do something creative and maybe just claim an already existing dragon after a characters untimely demise? Every time someone makes their character claim Vermithor, I roll my eyes. Like, we get it, you want a big ass dragon.

(5) Laenor is a good, attentive father.

But only to the character for some reason, and dotes on her, but not the boys? Wake up, he's a cool guy but a pretty lowsy family man. He loved the boys, but he loved freedom more. He just wasn't built for that kind of life.

(6) Viserys just exists to be chronically dying background character.

Where is the interaction with anyone other than copying down already existing scenes? If you write a fic for example and claim he "adores" his grandchild via Rhaenyra (let's assume you are), then why is he just there and having zero interaction? Where is the bonding that backs up the fact he adores said character? Also, this guy was a very significant character in the entire show/book, and you guys just let him die in the background, like...

(7) Having your character have a Daenerys based complex.

For example, you give her more than one dragon. You USE Daenerys as a face claim (I can't stress enough how unoriginal this all is), and some fics even copy her quotes and the fact she can speak Dothraki. Then you give a BS excuse as to how she knows the language. So uncreative it's basically copywrite. It's even worse when you use Drogon as your dragon. You know, there is one fic I found through tiktok where the OC's name was DAENERYS, and her dragon was named DROGON. Like, grow up. Its obsessed fans like you make her character unlikeable. Stop it. It's cringe. Stop trying to be her.

(8) STOP USING CIRI FACE CLAIM ON FUCKING GOD.

Omg, we get it, she has white hair 🧍🏼‍♀️😭 But ya'll she looks like an alien that took crystal meth. The actress is pretty but the costume design in the Witcher for her was lame as hell. Too many authors use her. You know how many goddamn tiktok slide shows I've seen of people promoting their crappy books with Ciri as their faceclaim? I immediately scroll. Its almost as bad as Daenerys.

(9) Owning Dark Sister without actually having your character EARN the blade.

It just is either gifted to her for absolutely zero reason or she just has it in general. Like, how many times do I have to read about the sword being gifted to her by Daemon?! If you want the sword so bad, make your character go through obstacles throughout the story and EARN it. Its just lazy writing.

(10) Having absolutely zero interaction or connection with people outside of nobility/royalty.

Examples being the common folk (blacksmith, bakers, whores, etc), merchants, foreigners, soldiers, maids/servants, slaves, witches, humanoid creatures, the free folk, sailors, travellers, bards, theatre people, etc. I never see friendships or any sort of actual interaction outside of royal characters, and barely interaction with other lesser important Houses such as Redwyne, Manderly, etc. Its always just made up characters from House Stark or House Martell or something like typical like that. You guys barely write any outsider interaction - and brothel visits barely count! Where are the relationships outside of the castle walls?!

(11) Forgetting that the character has a dragon (if she has one, which is most likely a yes, don't lie)

You guys always forget you have a dragon and a close bond with said dragon. This is in EVERY SINGLE FANFIC. Make sure to write scenes here and there of your character spending time with the dragon. Its also good details if maybe your character talks about their dragon often like the way you losers would dote and yap about your cats and lizards or something emo like that. STOP FORGETTING YOUR DRAGON!

(12) Coming up with the crappiest and most non thought through Valyrian sounding names for characters AND dragons.

Examples of crappy names I've seen are: Daellya, Caellayna, Jaenarya, and Daenyares (again, stop trying to be Daenerys). Stop. They're shit. They're poorly thought through. Come up with something that sounds pronounceable and not an absolute tongue twister. It's not clever or cool. It's stupid and lazy. Dragon names that are stupid include: Haelyx, Onyxys, and sometimes even Valyrian names that are FOR PEOPLE. These names just sound so lazy and emo. Think of something that readers would remember, look back on, and not visibly cringe. I've seen someone name their dragons things like Daeron and Maegor before and I knew then I had to quit reading for the day.

(13) Forcing all the characters to like the reader.

Bro, come on, its so unrealistic. I saw a tiktok slideshow once of someone's fanfic. The caption said "everyone in love with my character" then proceeded to show every important person in the entire show. Mainly the hot ones. Newsflash! They're all hot. Like, stfu and let your character have enemies that aren't just Cole. Smh.

(14) Making the character a party girl in a medieval fantasy AU

Guys, this is a world where the only "rave" youre going to this weekend is a brothel orgy or a play in the streets that acts out political propaganda. Like, you ain't attending a Diddy party unless it's Larys' and we all know he doesn't have the funds or the legal right to throw a party at the Red Keep.

(15) Being Helaena's best friend, or being nice to her.

I love Helaena, but yall need to stop doting over her through your writing sometimes. Give it a break. She has her flaws too and I bet if ya'll knew her irl you'd be so awkward around her. I'm tired of pretending she isn't a complicated character.

(16) Helaena being written as an airhead or dumb vibes.

She's not an airhead she's just antisocial, amongst other things (towards family anyhow). Write her as unnattached, not a day dreamer. And also, even worse if you give her crappy riddles that sound like they're written by a 2 year old. Helaena has shown to be very aware and very smart.

(17) Normalising Cole, Otto, Daemon and Alicent hate.

We get it, their flaws outshine the good parts. But again, realism. Enough said.

(18) A stable boy romance phase.

Like bruh. Nobody asked for this. We get it, you like the Borgias, but nobody came to watch you smack lips with a dirty stable boy you just met and probably would forget about within 2 chapters. I wish I could say more, but its ALWAYS a stable boy.

(19) Aemond's "hmms".

Guys, he hummed probably 3 times throughout the show and you suddenly think it's a habit. Aemond is silent most of the time. He's a silent, calculative snake. I love him, but whenever I see you guys write "hm" I die a little inside. It's not a habit. Everyone makes that noise.

(20) Dragonstone and The Red Keep.

Why is it always a constant setting? Unless you're on dragonback or confronting Aemond at Storm's End, you're either at the castle in Kingslanding, or the one on Dragonstone! Like, you guys got so many other settings to take advantage of: the city, the beach, the Kingswood, small villages, other nobles castles, Essos, the mountain ranges, etc. Like its a fantasy world, come up with something even like secret hidden places or ruins and stuff.

Anyway, I am done yapping and being mad. If you guys have any other cliche things to add, I'd love to hear them in the comments. This also helps me avoid writing this stuff as a HOTD author.

I remember when I read the webtoon, not at all knowing what I was getting myself into, having a great time. Then I finished it, with a hole in my heart so big I didn’t think anything else could fill it. Then I learned that they had adapted weak hero into one season of a kdrama. I was absolutely ecstatic and I watched it all in one sitting. It fascinated me how the director chose to adapt the backstory first, but I definitely wasn’t against the decision. In fact, I believe that’s the best way it could have gone. Then comes this year. I had been anticipating season 2 for so long and when it came out, I made sure to watch it in one sitting, as to not get spoiled. I was, again, filled with an empty hole in my heart. But also the satisfaction of seeing this product that I had waited for and love being adapted in a way that was filled with passion.

The relationships in this show fill me with so much joy. Starting off with the OG trio. I always have a soft spot for trios in fiction. Each of the pairs have their own unique dynamic and it elated me to see Sieun come out of his shell slowly in this group. Even after all of the events of season 1, Sieun holds so much love in his heart for Beomseok that I don’t think even he knows what to do with it. (I’ll get to Suho and Sieun’s dynamic later).

Sieun and Yeongyi were also a cute dynamic. Her assertiveness vs. his reserved-ness also played a large part in him being able to open up. Suho and Yeongyi were basically 2 peas in a pod. They matched each other’s vibe and were loud enough to cancel out each other.

Onto season 2. We had the quad. Each member strategically balanced each other out. Starting off first with Sieun and Baku. Both of them struggle with very similar things, the burden of thinking they ruined a friend’s life due to their actions. They try to keep people safe, but don’t take their own advice. One of them is fighting for everyone and the other is fighting for everyone they love. Then there’s Gotak and Juntae. These two cuties are almost like each other’s rock. They’re always there for each other and would do basically anything to protect each other. Juntae’s kind nature balances out Gotak’s impulsiveness. Their scenes will always make me smile. I like reading them as romantically coded, but I also like their dynamic as just friends

Then we’ve got Sieun and Juntae. I think Sieun was surprised with the idea that he had the ability to protect someone who, just days ago, he didn’t care about at all. He may see a little bit of himself in Juntae, although their personality differs. Juntae sees Sieun as almost his savior. He didn’t even call him and he came running. Next is Gotak and Baku. The childhood friends. Although they don’t talk about the incident, I imagine once in a while, Baku sees Gotak’s leg and starts spiraling, but Gotak reassures him that he’s okay. They’re very much the ‘dumb and dumber’ trope, and they compliment each other well.

Next is Sieun and Gotak. Although their relationship started rough, they’ve both grown into people that they can mutually respect. Gotak, other than their first fee encounters, never crosses any of Sieun’s boundaries and always seems to make him feel comfortable. In fact, they’ve both grown first almost smile we got out of Sieun in season 2 was because of his (and Baku’s) antics. Lastly for the quad, we’ve got Juntae and Baku. Although one of the less explored dynamics, we can see that Baku views Juntae as almost a little brother, someone worth protecting.

Now for a very interesting one, Baekjin and Baku (#were divorced and make it everyone’s problem). Jkjk, but the two of them have a very complicated history and “let go” of their affection for each other long, long ago. Knowing that Baekjin dies not knowing the Baku does not, in fact, hate him, will forever hurt me. Another interesting one is Sieun and Baekjin. The two geniuses who could have been on the same team in spelling bee, who ended up fighting each other almost to death. One thing that always stood out to me, was that Baekjin never broke his promise about not going to Suho’s hospital, while Sieun did end up not keeping his promise of staying away from Baku.

As the absolute last we’ve got Sieun and Suho. From the moment I read the webtoon, their dynamic tickled my brain. Their relationship starts off similar to how Sieun’s and Gotak’s start, with a bit of a rough patch. From then on, through effort put in on Suho’s part, and toleration on Sieun’s they get closer and closer. I know their relationship can be interpreted in different ways, but the romantic angle was always the one I saw it from. As soon as either one of them gets hurt, the other makes sure to make the person who’s hurt them pay dearly. He was the first person to make him smile and the entire conversation at the hospital was almost a confession of love. Even the director, Hyunwook and Jihoon themselves said similar things about their love. I know, when Suho got put in that coma, Sieun probably never thought he’d love again. But through exposure to all new friends, he did. Then seeing his heart through his eyes at the sight of Suho at the end of season two wrapped it all up with a pretty little bow.

I’m glad to finally write this all down. I’ve been wanting a way to relay my feelings about weak hero and I finally did.

Long post but I had to get my thoughts on Hudson & Rex (and certain fans) out.

This has been in the back of my mind for a while, and I think I've finally put my finger on what's been bothering me about the way a certain online contingent are reacting to the imagined idea that John Reardon has been forced out of Hudson & Rex.

TL;DR - We have nothing to go on that John's not returning and anyone who feels owed an answer by the studio/actors/dog handlers who have no say over the studio's decisions needs to take a good long look at everything. Use some critical thinking skills and just breathe for a second. And maybe some compassion for the fact that John nearly died half a year ago.

(And spamming every social media account related to the show demanding answers is not going to get anyone what they want. In fact, it's highly likely to do the opposite and I'm not surprised people's comments have been deleted. Especially for all the tangential people - but even for John! - they're probably pretty miserable to get yet another contact about this.)

First off, let me say I'm a huge fan of the show. This is probably one of the first shows in a while that I got so into so fast. It has a lot of the things I love in media all rolled into one, I would be upset if they truly did kill off Charlie Hudson, and I've been anxiously awaiting any cast news. However...

None of us are owed a single thing by any studio, producer, or actor, especially not on our timelines. I know we live in a day and age of constant news and instant gratification, but we certainly aren't owed what might currently be tentative, confidential information regarding an actor's contract. If both parties haven't signed a final agreement, then they likely cannot publicly publish any related details. Maybe they're still negotiating. Maybe John is still trying to figure out how much he can commit to for a new season. Because lemme tell ya, acting might seem glamorous, but do you know how many hours they have to put in and how physically demanding even a Hallmark movie is? Let alone Hudson & Rex where Charlie is regularly jumping off of things and fighting people? More on why this is important in point 3.

We basically have never been told the regular stars were coming back. I looked but can't find where the show announced that any of their actors were coming back for seasons 2-7. They just said the show was returning. And... that's what's happened with season 8. The promo materials thus far have been on par with every other season's promo materials. (Because I love the show, but for some reason they never really put out much until the season premiere is nearly upon us.) Did we get an announcement that Luke joined the cast? Yes. Because he's a new addition (and it's often part of the contract that they'll promote it.) Did we get an announcement that Justin, Kevin, or Mayko are coming back? No. So... maybe hold up on assuming John's not returning just because nobody has mentioned that he is. We've never gotten much early promo content, just that the show was back… so why are all of these people suddenly so sure that John's been punished by the studio for having cancer? Speaking of which…

John practically just got the all-clear from his cancer diagnosis. In late December, he posted that it was his first night out since being diagnosed. (And my heart broke at the hospital picture he included because he looked so tired and sick. His "now" picture was drastically better, but you could tell he was still recovering.) Are these fans all forgetting that the man literally almost died not even 6 months ago? I don't know if their understanding of cancer is what they've seen on a couple of pieces of media or if the cavalier way most shows (including Hudson & Rex) handle injuries, poisonings, etc most of the time has warped any sense of what actually happens when a human being is deathly ill, but... illness wrecks your body. Chemo wipes out your immune system. Fighting cancer weakens your entire system. How are people demanding he turn around and come back to an extremely physically demanding role and spend 20+ hours a day on a set for weeks? They might still be figuring out just how much John can physically do. For that matter, John's doctors might not have even cleared him yet and the studio is waiting it out or John may have just recently decided if he was well enough to come back. (Also, he has a wife and three little kids. I'm pretty sure the seriousness of them losing him was a lot to deal with. Maybe he needed time to decide if he's able to fully commit to coming back?)

John's likely still dealing with a lot with having lost Diesel. They were incredibly close. All of the interviews I've seen talk about how much they bonded (they were co-stars for 6.5 seasons!). I remember one where they talked about how they had to keep Rex off-set when they filmed scenes where Charlie was in danger or got hurt because Diesel wanted to tear people apart for touching him. So then consider that John's fighting cancer, and then Diesel gets sick and passes away - and John probably couldn't even really see him much if at all because of him also being sick. (How hard must it be to have your co-star die of the same thing you're fighting? And not even be able to grieve properly because of the sheer amount of energy you're expending just trying to stay alive yourself?) Can we show some compassion toward the guy? And not just wail about how we're being cheated of... well, anything? Like, come on, cancer should put everything into perspective!

Luke joining the cast has 0 bearing on if John's staying. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Luke was added so the show could continue having a lead detective who can fall down a well for Rex to rescue while John comes back to regular episodes slowly. Maybe they'll be partners long-term. Who knows. NONE OF US DO. That's kinda my whole point here. (And yeah, the show is called Hudson & Rex, not just Inspector Rex, but I have a feeling these fans would've still lost their minds when the original show changed their human cast multiple times.) The only thing that the show starting to film season 8 means is they have a required schedule to stick to in order to meet legal requirements with the studio. Which could also have a lot to do with why Luke was added as a series regular.

Can we all just calm down and find our thinking caps? I'm aware that might be too much to ask from the internet at large, but I'm also really tired of all the panicking fans I've seen posts from lately.

At the end of the day, this is a television show that does not actually control any of our lives, and demanding they cancel it and end everyone's jobs in a very competitive industry just because you're upset about something that may not actually be happening just feels really self-centered and unfair to me.

Maybe John's leaving after all (and if he is, I'll be sad). Maybe he's coming back eventually. But also maybe don't harass every single person related to the show and contribute to making all of them miserable just because you feel like you're owed an answer and a specific outcome?

He shook with another sob, sinking to one knee and realizing that the survival of one ship-- one girl, really-- had been for a moment more important than the war itself, or a city's millions. Then the wind shifted, and Alek breathed in the burnt-meat smells that filled the room behind him.

Important enough for him to kill a man, it seemed.

1. Genuinely had to lay down with my head in my hands for a little bit. Oh my god. This part still gets me after all this time.

2. Deryn is, in this moment (and, he's realizing, has been for quite some time), more important to Alek than the war, the only motivation he's had for a book and a half. What he said was the only thing that was keeping him going. This is like the reverse of "he makes me feel like flying," where Alek is what makes her happy; the concept of not having her in his life is more catastrophic than the thing that upended his whole life in the first place. 3. I need you to bear with me on this one. I am begging you to bear with me. There is a moment in season 3b of Teen Wolf where one of the main characters is killed by the monsters they're fighting. (I am being vague on purpose for spoiler reasons.) The other teenagers are hysterically sobbing because their close friend just died in their arms. And one of the adults, who also loved this kid so so much, pushes down all his grief to drill these hysterical kids on what to say when the cops get there in a few minutes. "You didn't see anything, it all happened so fast. Do you understand me? It all happened so fast." The kids are screaming and crying and he's begging them to pull it together. There's no time for comfort, if they don't get their story straight these kids are going straight to jail.

This scene has done me significant emotional damage. But it's brilliant. It's the most gripping scene in the whole show, my description doesn't even begin to do it justice. I really like Teen Wolf as a dark comedy, but that scene alone is worth the worst of the corny bullshit you go through to get there.

All that to say. I want this for the aftermath of this moment. We don't see what happens after this realization, but we know Alek is sobbing about killing someone in cold blood (and Deryn almost dying, but that's not as relevant to Volger right now). I want Volger to find Alek sobbing hysterically and start trying to get his story straight before anyone can come back and find him like this. There's no time for comfort yet-- and Alek is a terrible liar. "Listen to me. You don't know what happened. Goliath was unstable. Tesla must have been caught in the explosion. It all happened so fast."

Welcome back!! Oh man, I live for this! I would love to share the list of my favorite roles of Jon Bernthal!

But first, special shout-out to @darlingshane for the beautiful gifset of Braxton's oral fixation.

Before I start, one thing I will note is a lot of Jon's roles are not large in terms of screen time, but they are magnificent in terms of the impact on the story; so even if he is on the screen for only five, ten minutes, you'll love his performance. You know the saying "there are no small roles, only small actors"? Yeah, that so accurately applies to Jon. I respect the shit out of him for putting so much effort and talent into each role, big or small.

That said, here are my favorites! (These are all shows/movies I've watched more than once, not just for Jon, but because I actually do enjoy the plots.)

Mikey Berzatto - The Bear

The Bear is listed as a comedy, but I would call it a drama about mental illness with a sprinkle of comedy thrown in.

You'll notice my profile icon is the of this scene. Mikey is my favorite fictional character, hands down. ❤️ Mikey broke my heart and I have no words for how much I love him for it.

Jon is in only one episode per season, but oh man, he makes those few episodes so worth it. His acting is so phenomenal that he won an Emmy for this role.

Terrance Swaino - Small Engine Repair

Small Engine Repair has been a personal project of Jon's with his friend John Pollono. It started out as a play written by Pollono many years ago (in which Bernthal and Pollono both starred), and in about 2019, Bernthal and Pollono turned it into a movie.

The movie is about three friends getting justice for the mistreatment of one of their daughters, and the writing is spectacular. Jon plays a hilarious, lovable, trashy character. I would watch this movie even if Jon wasn't in it, it's that good. Highly recommend.

Shane Walsh - The Walking Dead

I think The Walking Dead needs no introduction.

Shane is a controversial character to many, but we in the Jon fandom adore him. I will stand by the claim that Shane has never done a thing wrong in his life.

Matt Rayburn - Wind River

Oh Matt...dear Matt...he will forever have a special place in my heart.

Wind River is a drama from Taylor Sheridan (creator of Yellowstone, 1923, Lioness) about the investigation of a murder on the Wind River Indian Reservation. It is a dark, emotional movie, so prepare yourself for the heavy material.

Jon is in this movie for ten minutes, and is able to create an incredibly moving character in that time. I won't say more to not give away spoilers about the plot, so I'll just say the whole cast is very talented.

Braxton - The Accountant / The Accountant 2

Moving on to a lighter movie, The Accountant movies (2016, 2025) are about brothers Christian and Braxton, played by Ben Affleck and Jon. Christian is an autistic accountant who works for criminal organizations and Brax is a hitman. They are fun action movies, and Ben and Jon's chemistry is hilarious to watch.

Sam Rossi - Sweet Virginia

Sweet Virginia is about the aftermath of a hired hit. Jon's role in Sweet Virginia is one of his softest, sweetest characters, Sam Rossi. And he has quite the impressive beard. I'd give this movie plot a 6/10, but Jon looks so scrumptious that it's worth it.

Blake - The Unforgivable

The Unforgivable is about a recently-released ex-con, played by Sandra Bullock, trying to learn to navigate her life outside of prison, while attempting to rebuild her relationship with her family.

Jon plays her sweet coworker / love interest. His brown eyes are so adorable that we can forgive the mustache.

And this wraps up the top movies and shows I'd recommend. Of course, Jon has other roles, but these are the ones most significant to me.

Lastly, a big role I've left off is Frank Castle from The Punisher. The Jon fandom loves Frank, but I have not been a fan of Marvel in a long time, so I actually have not seen it. So that's the only reason he's not on this list.

Top 5 acting pairs that AREN'T JimmySea, and your favorite series/role for them. 💜 (doesn't have to be gmm!)

ABBY I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BUT THIS IS SO HARD I KEEP CHANGING MY ANSWER BECAUSE NONE OF IT FEELS RIGHT (ALSO NOT THE BLATANT JIMMYSEA CALL-OUT ✋😭)

i think what's stumping me about this is that it doesn't feel fair to me to put on the same level pairings who have worked together only once and pairings who have worked together multiple times. im also clearly biased towards GMMTV pairings because i engage with content about them outside of their acting job, so my judgement is very skewed by the fondness i feel for them (but also i do believe GMMTV pairs are the most well-rounded, but the world isn't ready for this conversation)

all this to say that aside from the first spot in this list, the other ones are very flexible, but i tried to pick ones that i think are pretty well rounded (although my bias is definitely showing), so here we go!!!!!

1. aouboom. GMMTV's best kissers and high heat deliverers with effervescent impeccable incomprehensible levels of chemistry both on- and off-screen. they're incredibly versatile and you can tell that they're also fully comfortable with each other, which results in an amazing emotional and physical connection that makes every scene feel natural and believable.

favorite role for them: tanfang from we are (but dechmek from memoir of rati could easily steal this spot if done right)

2. smartboom. the only acting pair with just one project under their belt that im allowing to enter the list and that should tell you everything about how good i think they are. im honestly gonna be SO SAD if they don't get another show together (and i mean a NEW show, not a second season of top form) because i think the way they're able to engage with each other on-screen is insane. it's not just about chemistry, it's how they play off each other's emotions and reactions too. the industry would be crazy not to invest on them.

favorite role for them: jinakin from top form (well. there wasn't much of a choice here ;;;;;)

3. earthmix. look, ossan's love thailand was a mess and a half but it was also a great reminder of earthmix's range as actors and as a pairing, which unfortunately i tend to forget way too often. no matter the genre or the role, they're gonna deliver an incredible performance whether they are in a scene together or not. they are amazing actors, have a wide emotional range, and their chemistry is still one of the best i've ever seen.

favorite role for them: phuphatian from a tale of thousand stars

4. daouoffroad. the theme of this list is becoming 'genuine off-screen relationships based on mutual understanding and respect translate amazingly on-screen', which is something i do firmly believe in, and daouoffroad is a perfect example of this. i think they're extremely well-balanced and can play off each other really well, so they're able to balance their respective weaknesses out while maximizing their strengths.

favorite role for them: sanvee from century of love

5. forcebook. i can see people making faces and rolling their eyes and shaking their head but I DON'T CARE. these two have known each other for more than 20 years and it SHOWS. their connection is such a living breathing thing that it feels like the universe needs to expand around them to make space for it every time they're on screen together. they're like two planets orbiting each other and it's always a pleasure to watch, even in the moments where they're rough around the edges (mostly force).

favorite role for them: phoomvicha from peaceful property (because it's the proof that with a good script they can DEVOUR it)

DISCLAIMER THIS IS GONNA BE LONG!!! and i haven't watched the show in a while so details may not be 100%

first off i totally agree that a big issue holding s2 back was time. if it were up to me (which, obviously it isn't lmfao) i'd say it needed to be a 3 season show to maintain the quality we expected from watching season 1 OR if it was always gonna be 2, they needed to be doing a lot less (for example, and this pains me to say, but no isha tho i could have a whole separate discussion about her)

while i agree with the compact story point, i don't think it was effective in s2 where it's much more reliant on quick snapshots of actions that we didn't get to explore the long-term impacts of as much as in season 1 nor did we get to fulfill all the plots they set up which imo is a big part of why caitvi flopped for me

i completely agree with cait's arc being interesting but i have two gripes: the most important is that i didn't like the execution and narrative framing, and the second is i don't think some aspects made sense within the world (i have separate arguments about the lol thing but i think they could've made it satisfying and still compliant!)

so for my smaller gripe, it's just the fact that ambessa has no real political power over them. she simply cannot walk in and declare caitlyn anything, much less instate martial law. i think caitlyn could have been manipulated by ambessa into doing this but it would look more like a personal coup d'etat on her part instead of ambessa's. that's like me walking into your house and deciding to parent your kids like girl who are you

now for the bigger issue, i honestly think the narrative framed caitlyn as a "good guy" that we're supposed to be sympathetic of— the world around her ultimately doesn't show a sense of consequence, and i'm not saying i want some broader sense of justice and punishment for her because that's not it at all, but the real moral implications of her actions aren't truly discussed and then we're just supposed to forgive her?

first of all, when we discuss her mother's death, we act like it's a targeted act towards her when, in reality, it's a political revolutionary act that has nothing to do with caitlyn's feelings. despite this she wants revenge which is a fine plot point, i don't mind, but when she executes it what happens has a clear name: chemical warfare. there's no brushing over it and that's okay too except the show does brush over it and that's what annoys me. the "gas works differently in this fictional show" argument is a defense of narrative incompetence, nothing more because while i fully agree with death of the author, there's no reason for us to think that's how the grey works when in-show we've seen the importance of the vents and why weaponizing them is actually a massive deal

then we only see it again once the gas is used against piltover in violent retribution and we see one kid with the mask as an excuse to execute martial law, which highlights: oh so now that's how gas works, so now it's affecting civilians, so now we're supposed to be sympathetic— and i know that in-story this was manipulation. however a story chooses what it shows and it's ineffective to show that and then not show the consequence for the zaunites who were a) the first to be gassed, b) historically the ones dealing with its effects and c) had no access to this same medical care (2 ethical "dilemmas" here: 1 violent retribution from an oppressed group towards its oppressor is never as bad as the oppression that occured in the first place, much less when it's long-term like in arcane and 2 i simply don't believe that even if it magically reached zero zaunite civilians, gassing "criminals" is somehow better or more justifiable)

so narrative-wise, caitlyn's consequences tend to get brushed over and instead we see her getting manipulated and having a horrible terrible time and we're supposed to feel sympathetic and see her as this struggling morally gray figure which like. girl— now i agree caitlyn CAN do bad stuff and CAN be morally gray but the extent of the struggle we saw from her was too short for me to actually feel compelled and it happened mostly thru time skip which meant that, as an audience, we didn't see any of her struggling in real time. this would be fine if we hadn't already been introduced to caitlyn the naive lowly ranked cop that wanted to "heal the cities" but we were

then, we don't see any remorse, she only thinks of herself. which again, fine but the execution relied on me feeling bad for her because suddenly she "did the right thing"? only when piltover was in danger and she decided hating jinx was "too tiring"? girl i haven't seen the long-term effects or impacts this had had on you wdym

and again, i don't think narrative punishment is necessary for her but the way her makeup with vi was so rushed and never addressed just felt so bland to me. like i have no real reason to root for them or want vi to get with her past the fact that i love red x blue ships yk like okay they were miserable apart but queen they were also miserable together make a case here (i say this as a fan of toxic yuri and toxic couples in fiction)

so basically, i just think the narrative is weak both in her corruption and her redemption and i think caitvi and the plot suffers from that because the world doesn't react to her actions, it bends around her

when jinx bombed the council, the council was destroyed, people died, people hated her (natural consequence)

when caitlyn gassed the undercity everyone was fine and i'm supposed to forget about it and oh also vi doesn't care?? (plot pandering to them)

anyway, me personally i would've either made cait a traditional heroic "good guy" (and this is just personal preference! but i think a story about hope and turning compassionate in ur grief might've been nice lol) or! keep the corruption arc but make it make sense: address vi's actual feelings on the matter past the boxing montage because she was barely treated like her own character this season, address caitlyn's actual struggle with doing this past one-liners about doing the right thing for the wrong reasons (which imo demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of her own actions but okay), and having her immediately get back with vi after her sister runs off

my stance on the dv issue is commit to it: "if they hit you once, they'll do it again", cait is always going to be in a position of power and wealth over vi (because while yes, vi wasn't dependent on her we see she quite literally has no one else to go but boxing in that ring and paying for her cramped one-room, she has no family and no friends anymore, she could've gone to the firelights maybe but even that wasn't a guarantee for her given how little she actually knows about them) so brushing all that aside for the reconciliation just didn't hit for me

as for police brutality i just think cait did, in fact, commit heinous acts of police brutality and it's insane that im supposed to close my eyes and act like it was less of a big deal than it was

oh! also!!! i think the show would've benefitted from going thru with the revolutionary plotline they set up (here they could've either made it a true power struggle story with morally gray caitlyn and exposed the ultimate shortcomings of the world they set up: the bourgeoisie, while ruling everyone, will only ever truly care about themselves or they could've tried for a change within the system vs change by overturning the system plot which also could've been cool)

gosh i just have so much to say about this, i hope this made any sense and i'm so excited to hear ur response!!!! again i love getting asked about this and if u want me to expand on literally anything even outside of cait/caitvi i will be delighted to

you know, something that bothers me supremely about the scene where caitlyn hits vi and leaves is the imagery, and (i personally) haven't seen it discussed yet

so i'd just like to point out that caitlyn hits her with the butt of her rifle that she uses for police work (and has a similar design to what other enforcers have been seen carrying) while in uniform: the way this scene was written is bound to evoke associations of police brutality and the systemic oppression that has already been shown in arcane.

imo that just makes the whole scene worse by highlighting the power imbalance between vi and caitlyn. it's a big reminder to the viewer that we're seeing a cop that operates within a body that specifically and intentionally oppresses the lower class hitting a lower-class woman with the weapon (not tool, weapon) that we know they used to intimidate and keep them "in line" in the past

i'm not going anywhere specific with this, just wanted to know what other people thought !!

(and yes, i know vi was also in uniform, but that just points out the working imbalance of cait being her commanding officer, aka her boss; similarly i used "that woman" instead of girlfriend as to not bring in the dv undertone— and neither of these erase the socioeconomic divide between them, arguably it just makes it worse)

the thing that’s fascinating to me about bix is that usually you when you have the character who is genuinely a good person through and through, who is always trying to do the right thing, it can make the character sort of flat or lacking depth. they become just “the good one”, you can always predict what they’ll do, maybe it even gets a bit unrealistic. but bix, by being the one who is always trying to protect her people and do what’s right, actually opens an entirely new window through which to see the story.

when we’re empathizing with or seeing the story through the eyes of morally grey characters like cassian or cinta, it’s easy to see the story from a sense of self-preservation or “ends justify the means” reasoning, and understand or even support it. but it’s only when we see the world through the eyes of someone like bix that I think we realize the complicated moral choices aren’t just things like “the moral choice vs. the sacrifices it takes to do the right thing”, it’s that even if we were perceiving every choice through a selfless lens, we genuinely do not know what the right thing to do for others is. from the very beginning, should bix protect cassian by putting him in contact with luthen, or should she protect paak and everyone else involved by not contacting luthen more often than necessary? is it right to try to contact cassian when maarva is dying, or is it wrong to risk bringing imperial wrath down on ferrix if they intercept the communication? what do you risk when you trust the people you love? what do you risk when you don’t trust them? timm couldn’t have betrayed cassian if he hadn’t had the info that cassian was from kenari, but maybe he also wouldn’t have betrayed him if he knew about luthen and knew that by betraying cassian, he was risking bix’s safety as well.

many other characters show us how hard it is to make the right choice in terms of the sacrifices it will demand or what it will cost. bix shows us how hard it is to make the right choice because usually, we don’t even know what the right choice is.

(bix is also absolutely not the only character who does this; the show is packed with difficult moral choices throughout and many characters face this crisis of how to know what the right thing to do is. but something about bix just feels so much realer— she lives a life that is closest to most of ours in that her problems (at least in episodes 1-8) cannot be solved with blasters and battles and rebel hideouts but with interaction with her community and difficult but more mundane choices about what she can do for the people in her life. her goodness is also so focused on protecting her home and her people, which is a much more personal scale than trying to win a fight for the entire galaxy.)

i know that sounds like i’ve lost the plot, but please hear me out. it started small—like him watching a lot of bird documentaries and casually saying things like, ‘owls are the wolves of the sky’ (which i didn’t think about at the time because men say weird things constantly). but then he started doing… bird things. he whistles now. a lot. not cute whistling, yn. it’s more like he’s calling for backup.

so now i don’t know what to do. do i confront him and risk him flying away (literally)? or do i just let him… become whatever he’s becoming? pls help me yn. i miss my normal boyfriend who used to just binge-watch love island and occasionally make me toast.

what i suggest is this: sit him down for a chat. calmly ask, “babe, are you going through something? or are you genuinely preparing to molt?” like, we need clarity here. and if he doubles down on the bird thing, you have a choice to make. either support him and start buying bulk birdseed, or set him free—preferably in a park, not near any major roads.

also, maybe keep your eye on those eggs. i don’t know where he got them, but i’d be concerned.

first off... i just wanna say that i KNOW I KNOW that ino is one of the funniest people in the jjk cast idc idc!!! if he had more screentime (and if the situation wasnt dire) my boy would be crackin some jokes!!!!

you've been friends with takuma for around 7 years, your first meeting happening in tenth grade, when your teacher paired you two up for an interview project. when time came to actually record the interviews, it was hard to edit out you two laughing uncontrollably every fifteen seconds or so

i mean, you two just had so much in common!!! same favorite color, same favorite franchise, same favorite tv show, same favorite video game; it was like yall were the same person. there was just one thing you both disagreed on: whether hex code #286061 was blue or green

your argument ended up being the last ten minutes of the final video you submitted...

without a doubt, after that, you two became inseparable. in school, people would take notice of your closeness. when one of you were absent, teachers would jokingly ask "where's the other one?"

there was not a single thing you didn't do together, homework, go to the gym, gossip, eavesdrop, etc etc. so of course, you ended up applying to the same universities and when it came time for college acceptance season...

takuma invited you over, forcing you to bring your mailed letters from the eight universities. sprawling out over his lap, you took in the all too familiar sight of his room. you've been in his room more times than you've been in your own (and vice versa!)

i mean ino's been over to your place so many times that he calls your parents mom and dad. and you've been over to his house so much that takuma's mom practically jumped for joy every time you burst through the front doors with a "guess who's home!!!" so it was completely normal that you guys knew the ins and outs of each other's rooms, right?

"kuma, baby," you started with a sigh, reveling in your best friend's repetitive motions. running his hand through your hair, ino looked down at you, eyes showing that he was listening. "i'm scared, what if we don't–"

"ah-ah-ah! no negativity here!" he cut you off, pushing you off his lap and grabbing the letters you left on his desk. "listen here beautiful," takuma says, bringing a hand to your cheek, his heart swelling when you subconsciously leaned into it, "we're gonna take each other's letters, and open them," he handed you a white envelope, the logo of both of yours dream university on it, "starting with, kyōmei."

taking a well needed deep breath, you nodded. "okay," you and ino began to open the envelopes at the same time, only looking at each other when you saw the status. "accepted or rejected in 3...2...1..."

"ACCEPTED"

"ACCEPTED"

cue the mandatory silence before the screaming. "holy shit. you got in." "you got in." "WE GOT IN!!! WE'RE GOING TO KYŌMEI!!!!" you two practically flew off the bed, jumping up and down in celebration. peppering his face in kisses, you nuzzled your face into takuma's neck. "i'm so proud of us! i mean, kyōmei," you pulled away from his neck, shaking his shoulders harshly, "the kyōmei?!!!"

anyways, soon enough, you both realized that you'd have to move away, resulting in a seven hour search for apartments near the university's campus. and just as takuma was about to give up, you found a listing for units 19A and 19B, right in the heart of the city and just a five minute walk from kyōmei

and with that, it was moving day, well, days is more like it considering that the whole process took like ten days... finding cute furniture is really hard! and moving all of it is even harder!! and don't even get me started on the appliances! although, you and takuma found a way around it

like what do both of you need a microwave for? and there isn't a reason to have two dishwashers, there wasn't even a reason to have one! y'all kept your fridges though... who was gonna be banging on the other's door in the middle of the night for some cold water??

with time, it came for the highly anticipated freshman formal, an welcome event hosted by kyōmei itself, and of course, you had to go. so here you were, staring at your figure in the mirror as your best friend's large hand rubbed your shoulder, the other zipping up your black dress. "all done!" he breathed, taking a step away so that you could see for yourself. "i look so cute~" you giggled, hearing the clack of your heels as you twirled. "you do!" he paused, looking you up and down, "when did you get that dress?"

"your mom gave it to me a couple days ago! where'd you get that tux? i don't think i've seen it before," you walked over and straightened takuma's suit, as he laughed in response, "your mom gave it to me..."

"this was planned."

"this was definitely planned."

"we should send a picture in the family group chat!"

"we should!!! but, hair first!"

notice how i said family group chat, singular, not plural. and that's because there's a gc for both of your families! it's name was a mix between "ino" and your last name, since, in all seriousness, your families were close

so here you were, sitting pretty on takuma's lap as you focused on straightening the front pieces of his hair, because that's what best friends do!

"okayyyy sexyyyy," you squealed, moving out of the way so that takuma could see himself in your vanity mirror, "damnn, i look hot!" he smiled as he checked himself out, his hand firmly on your waist (to make sure that you wouldn't fall, of course!). "i knew i was fine but, did i always look this fine?" he asked, looking up at you with his big dark brown eyes, a playful smirk evident on his face. "yes, takuma. you're the sexiest man ever. just a bit of eyeliner on you and we'll be on our way, okay?"

turning back to your station, you grabbed some brown and black pencils before starting to lightly draw over ino's outer eye corner, "do men as sexy as me really need eyeliner?" a look from you was all he needed to know to shut up and close his eyes

and oh, how he loved being so close to you. not just emotionally but physically as well. like, not every duo can say that they barge into the other's apartment to steal snacks! and speaking of snacks... let me just say, there's a whole cabinet in his kitchen reserved for your favorite foods and! he keeps your favorite ice cream flavor stocked in his freezer

you, on the other hand, have a little space where you hide takuma's favorite anything. chips, gummies, takeout menus, you name it, you have it. because your best friend is oh-so-optimistic, it can be harder for him when he's just not having the best of days. which is why when you go your (not so) separate ways at the end of the day, you pack up a basket for him. ribbons in his favorite color, his top 15 favorite snacks from that one time y'all bought one of everything in a nearby convenience store and ranked them, takeout on the way, horror flicks he's been wanting on dvd because he said "its cooler that way", and a handwritten letter from you, for my kuma, scribbled on the envelope

dropping off the basket at his door and retreating back to your place, you'd press your ear against the wall separating your units, physically feeling your heart break when you heard sniffles. that was all you needed to practically fly over to his, a few boxes of tissues in hand. because that's what best friends do!

and don't even get me started on how many belongings y'all have at the other's place... like that one time takuma walked into your apartment announcing his presence, only to be met with silence. let me set up the scene for you. you are taking a relaxing shower when you hear a knock on the door followed by four more and then three more. "come in!" you called out, unbeknownst to you, ino's voice was closer than you thought

"already in here..., anyways. is my shampoo in there?"

"the one with the purple cap?"

"yeah, thanks babe!"

"wait, can you get me my towel?"

or that time when you causally opened the door to his unit (because it was basically yours too) and greeted him with a simple pat on his head before skipping off to find those jeans you thrifted

slight cohabitation aside, the university life was definitely... something. it was clear and obvious that you two were close, a blind man could see it. but close is a really really really vague word, and it's surely not the word that describes the way the two of you act. in this friendship, terms of endearment drop like rain from clouds. every. other. sentence. contains a "babe" or "baby" or "sweetheart" or "darling" WE GET IT OKAY...

and it seems like if y'all go a single day without touching each other, a bomb will fall from the sky and earth would blow up. his hands are constantly on you, his favorite places (when in public) being your shoulders and arms, and when at home it was without a doubt your waist and thighs. just imagine how difficult it must be for people speak to you both on campus when his arm is slung around you and your hand is holding onto his side. the rumors practically created themselves....

and when i say people were shocked, i mean they were SHOCKED when y'all were like "haha, no, we're not dating!!! we're best friends!" everyone was thinking: yeah best friends who FUCK. best friends who are IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER. y'all became the campus' it couple without being a couple. how does that happen??!??

however... there were a couple of people who were particularly excited to hear that you both were single. a few girls approached you one day while in the general area, asking if it was true that you and ino weren't dating. "we aren't... why?" one of the girls shifted on her feet, clearly nervous. "well... could you um... give this to him for me?!" she bowed, presenting a pretty pink envelope. you froze, staring at the item before giggling. "i see what this is about! don't worry! i'll make sure this gets to him safely!" long story short, that letter was never delivered

and on ino's side, he had some classmates pestering him about you. asking for your favorite show, candy, date style, everything under the sun. "guys, guys! she doesn't even want a boyfriend right now!" takuma shouted, even though two days prior you were complaining about how spending too much time with him was scaring all the hotties away

but let's get into the real stuff... the realization of love

for takuma, there wasn't a "wow, i'm in love with her" moment. what he does know though is that he started feeling something different for you a few months before college admission season. to him, the world was always bright with you by his side but now... it was so much brighter. it was like looking directly into the sun; it hurt but he couldn't look away, he doesn't want to look away. you're the best thing to ever happen to him, and the mere thought of ruining what you have just for some feeling—no matter how intense—isn't... right to him

and you figured it out after a dream you had one night back in high school. you dreamt of being in takuma's arms, the ones you snuck glances at when he wasn't paying attention to you. in not dream world, all you had to do was ask and he'd gladly envelop you but the vibes in this dream were different. there was tension. and it was thick. his beanie was off and thrown somewhere on the bed, your bed. looking back at him, your breath caught in your throat, "hey pretty," he slurred, drunk off tiredness. ino's called you beautiful more times than you can count; he made sure to do it at least once a week, so why... just why did this time make your stomach heat up and your heart race? you woke up with a flushed face, queasy feeling in your gut, and a deep understanding. it wasn't just platonic love anymore

"hey," you started, eyes trained on the movie in front of you, but your mind was focused on something else, "y'know how everyone thinks we're dating?" ino nodded as you reached over to grab the bowl of popcorn. "i've been thinking... maybe they're onto something..."

takuma's gulp could be heard from miles away, "wh-what are you trying to say?"

"what are we? seriously. because i can't sit here and pretend like i don't wish we were something more."

"something more like...?"

"now's not the time to be oblivious! don't you get it?! i'm—"

"i'm in love with you,"

it was like time stood still as you looked at your best friend. his face was lit by the tv screen a couple feet away, his hair was a mess, and slightly prominent dark circles were under his eyes, but... he's never looked more beautiful to you. "have been. for a long time. we've basically been dating for like four years already. four more and then we'll get married?" he flashed his signature smile

"oh, shut up," he brought your face millimeters away from his, whispering "make me." before kissing you deeply, not on your cheek, or your forehead, or your shoulders, but on your lips this time. and all the times after that too

because that's what best friends lovers do, right?
